Nursing Homes

With longevity rapidly on the increase and the Government's Commission for Social Care Inspection setting new standards for the design of residential nursing homes, the demand for bespoke accommodation has never been higher, and this trend looks set to continue in the foreseeable future.

As one of the first commercial property developers to revisit this sector since the 1990's, we have completed five deals since 2005, which will cumulatively provide over 330 nursing beds catering for people with a range of long-term illnesses that include Dementia, Alzheimers and Parkinsons Diseases.

Using tried and tested planning statements that combine statistics on employment generation with independent evidence of qualitative shortcomings in existing provision and local need, we have never failed to obtain planning permission for a nursing home, even on sites that are formally allocated for employment uses.

We continue to acquire sites of between 0.75 of an acre and 1.5 acres for nursing homes in predominantly residential areas all over the UK. Of particular interest are sites allocated for employment, local centres, live/work, hotel and community uses, and even sites

affected by moratoria preventing their development for conventional housing within Use Class C3.
